The first private
wine group in Italy

Argea was established in 2022 following the acquisition of Botter by the private equity fund Clessidra, and the subsequent entry of Mondodelvino.

In March 2023, the Group expanded further by welcoming the wine heritage of Cantina Zaccagnini. It brings together diverse entities under a shared project based on quality, development, and sustainability, aiming to involve leading players in the Italian wine sector—along with their cultures, people, territories, and production techniques—while enhancing their identities and preserving them as expressions of the finest tradition.

Argea was born with the ambition to be the accelerator of the Italian wine ecosystem in the world.

In line with this objective, in 2025 the company acquired WinesU, a historic U.S. importer.

By skillfully combining expertise in the production of DOC and DOCG wines, as well as their most innovative expressions, with their commercialization in international markets, Argea also positions itself as a promoter of a culture of sustainable development among producers and the people it works with.

CUVAGE (Piemonte)

Located in Acqui Terme, its name comes from the combination of Cuvée and Perlage, the terms that most strongly define the iconic Metodo Classico, in which Cuvage finds its highest expression.

RICOSSA (Piemonte)

Ricossa is an expression of a wine region defined by energy and passion: Piedmont. In the heart of Monferrato, in Castel Boglione, it offers contemporary winemaking interpretations of native grape varieties.

PODERI DAL NESPOLI (Romagna)

Poderi dal Nespoli is located in the Bidente Valley, Italy’s first Bio-Symbiotic District, in the hills of Forlì, in an area that connects the Apennines near the Tuscan border to the Romagna Riviera.
